‘Disappearance’ has amazing simplicity, truth and compassion: Sing fest jury

Iranian first timer’s feature film ‘Disappearance’ by Ali Asgari has been praised by the competition jury of Singapore International Film Festival.

The competition jury said in a media release that the film has “such amazing simplicity, truth and compassion, and yet convey(s) the complexity of a whole culture and human relationships that resonate deeply, whichever culture you belong to.”

‘Disappearance’ was the winner of the best film prize at the Silver Screen Awards, the competitive section of the Singapore fest.

Directed by Ali Asgari, the film tells the story of two young lovers who run from hospital to hospital, and are confronted with numerous obstacles.

The 27th Singapore International Film Festival will run from 23 Nov - 4 Dec 2016.

Internationally acclaimed Iran film ‘Disappearance’ has been screened at various film festivals across the globe and racked up a slew of accolades.
